Submissions are done - now it's time for an impromptu book club and voting session, y'all. From today, July 23rd, to the 30th, we will be voting for the top three works.
The Introduction
Considering the last contest set the bar with the low, low precedent of zero submissions, I'd say this has been a successful little experiment. There's some drama, some satire, and somebody wrote a whole, 15-page transcript (which I was quietly anticipating) - all adding up to a total of six distinct pieces. Great job, everyone!
The Prizes
While we... uh... haven't quite worked out the kinks of how we're going to display the winning pieces, they'll make their way onto the front page for the masses to behold. But first...
The Rules
- Each user can vote for up to three different users.
- When voting for someone, a user must use the FULL screen name. No nicknames or abbreviations.
- Don't vote for yourself. I know it's tempting, but don't. And if you make alternate accounts to vote for yourself - sockpuppeting - you're probably going to get banned.
- Stay respectful. Self-explanatory.
- As previously stated, the last day of voting is next Sunday, July 30th. That gives you a full week to read, deliberate, and select. This thread will close at 8:00 EST on that day, so vote before then.
The Way (to Vote)
Type in the following:
{{Support}} Writer's Name #1 {{Support}} Writer's Name #2 etc...
The Entries
Here's all of the entries (in the order they were posted). Remember: top three. Also, if you wrote an entry and neglected to add a description (or would like it to be redone), feel free to submit one in the comments to help market your work better!
Taliats: "Alanstein: The Happy Order"
"When i made my Alanstein poster many moons ago, people chalenged me to write a fanfic to go with it, after months of procrastination, i finally went through with it. It is only short and was written as a satire on overly edgy fanfictions but people enjoy it all the same."
ThatGuy456: "The Mortal"
"Carrie's and Darwin's romance has really taken flight, and none could be happier than Carrie's father, Vladus Lokowitchki. However, Vladus has some concerns about the relationship, mostly Carrie's supernatural nature. An otherworldly realization may relieve any of his doubts about their love."
GameUser10: "Neophyte"
"With man's technological evolution, more are pushed to question the relationship between mankind and technology, and ponder where exactly humanity stands within modern society's moral ambiguity. Forced into the world of biohacking and genetic modification, Rob discovers that the concept of the Übermensch is still very much alive, and very, very deadly."
Cartuneslover24: "The Rejection"
'Harold Wilson couldn't understand what Nicole saw in that chubby bunny. Well, actually, chubby was an understatement. Harold had seen ships with less cargo compared to Richard Watterson.' Takes place sometime after Nicole and Richard met as kids in "The Choices."
A.S.A.S.A.A.A.: "The Kidnapping"
No description.
Fenton127: "The Floater"
"Gumball and Darwin help Exercise Bacon find a job. But, when they find the right niche for him, Exercise realizes it might not be all it's cracked up to be."
