Cartoon Network (often abbreviated as CN) is an American cable and satellite television channel which currently broadcasts The Amazing World of Gumball, along with many other shows. It was launched on October 1, 1992.

The main broadcasting headquarters is located in Atlanta, Georgia. Cartoon Network Studios and the West Coast headquarters are located in Burbank, California, and Great Marlborough Productions Limited and the European headquarters are located in London, United Kingdom, as a division of Turner Broadcasting System.

Cartoon Network also has an adult orientated programming block called Adult Swim (stylized as [adult swim] or [as]), which debuted on September 2, 2001. This channel block is not appropriate for children under the age of 18. It airs from 8:00pm to 6:00am.

Toonami

Launched on March 17, 1997, Toonami airs action cartoons and Japanese anime hosted by TOM and SARA. Moltar, from Space Ghost Coast to Coast, was the former host of the block since its launch. The block on Cartoon Network ended on September 20, 2008. The block then appeared on Adult Swim on April Fool's Day 2012 as a prank, in place of Tommy Wiseau's film The Room, having aired it the past three years. By popular demand, the block returned and moved to Adult Swim, replacing the former ACTN block, on May 26, 2012. It airs every Saturday night from 11:00pm to 3:30am.

Boomerang is a TV channel operated by Cartoon Network that airs classic cartoons from the Golden Age of Animation through the 2000's. It started as a programming block on Cartoon Network on December 8, 1992, and debuted as a separate channel on April 1, 2000.

On October 1, 2012, Cartoon Network concluded its birthday-themed programming with the world television premiere of a sweeping, nostalgia inducing original music video commissioned to celebrate the network's 20 years of animated entertainment. Featuring original music by composers of the highly regarded label Mad Decent (Diplo, Major Lazer, Riff Raff, Bonde Do Role, Rusko, and more) and original animation by London-based design shop ILOVEDUST, this two-minute music video spotlights nearly 100 cartoon character all-stars who've contributed to Cartoon Network's remarkable legacy.
